Web Meal Reservation

TCPOS Web Meal Reservation module allows the customer registered in the system to reserve articles they will consume on specific restaurants, in order to be prepared and ready for delivery on the expected date.

Instructions

TCPOS Web Meal Reservation module allows the customer registered in the system to reserve articles they will consume on specific restaurants, in order to be prepared and ready for delivery on the expected date. Restaurants introducing this system will benefit of great advantages, like:

  • Possibility to know in advance how many customers and which meals will have to be delivered on a specific date, planning the raw materials purchase with extreme precision (reducing therefore the waste due to over-ordering)
  • Improve fidelization of the customers themselves, allowing them to know in advance the possible dish choices, and possibly receiving discounts in case the reserve in advance
  • For canteens, it is also possible to have the reservations automatically booked on the customers’ accounts, so that no more interaction with a till is needed for the ones who made a reservation. A huge improvement in service quickness is therefore possible

Configuration

Configuration is at the same timeextremely simple and flexible. Through some configuration forms, directly integrated within TCPOS Admin, it is possible to define all the needed parameters, such as

  • which meals are available in a day and the timeframe defining them (e.g. “Lunch” from 11:00 to 14:00), as well as how many hours before the meal starts the order can still be modified (e.g. the luch starting at 11:00 can have new reservations, or modifications, until 9:00, after this threshold, the orders are considered fixed and cannot be modified any more)
  • the closing days and holidays for each restaurant
  • how many days to show in the web reservations module
  • fully flexible meal plannings; they can be on a weekday basis or on a specific date, the articles between which the customers are allowed to choose, the number of articles that can be reserved by a single user on a specific meal, etc.

Web Module Usage

When opening the page, the browser will check if the Silverlight client is already installed. In case it is not, a button will appear to perform the installation.

Once the main page is opened, the login screen is displayed. The user will perform the login using his personal code and password. In case these are forgotten, and an e-mail address is associated with the code, the password can be automatically re-sent to the user’s email.

After the login, the main reservation screen will allow the user to choose in which restaurant to perform his reservation (if more than one is configured) and to review what has already been reserved. To make a reservation, simply click on the day / meal combination of interest and a new screen will open to choose the articles to reserve.

In the articles detail window, clicking on an article on the left will add it to the reservation, clicking on an article on the right (i.e. a reserved article), will remove it from the reservation.

It is also possible for the user to autonomously modify his email address, PIN, or even lock his account (in case, for example, he lost his personal card). Please note that locking an account will require an administrator to un-lock it.

The sample application

The sample application on this demo server is configured with four customer accounts:

Name Code Password
Jack Black 1 1
John White 2 2
Jim Pink 3 3
Luke Brown 4 4

Login with any of these users, and feel free to try to make reservations or change the user data. The database is reset to its initial state every day at 2 am.
