The manufacturer of fittings Haefele located in Nagold, in the black forest, has found a solution to connect its first store in Spain using the merchandize management system x-trade from Maxess and the POS system from TCPOS. Based on a cloud from IBM the integrated solution enables easy connection of stores and countries because a local server installation is unnecessary.

Solution for easy international expansion
Just 13 Kilometers away from Madrid, in Alcobendas, the company Haefele has opened its first store under its own brand. Builders' hardware and bright chrome as well as tools can be purchased and ordered by businessmen or private persons here from one of the leading companies worldwide in its business sector. The solution from Maxess and TCPOS based on an IBM cloud secures that all data of the store in Spain can be seamlessly integrated with the head office of Haefele in Germany. The advantage of the IBM cloud: The installation of a local server within the IT center is superfluous and expansion is possible very fast. A new store can just be switched on via the merchandize management and POS system from Maxess and TCPOS based on the IBM cloud.
The technical basic concept is easy: Using a secure VPN-connection the POS systems from TCPOS and the x-trade store merchandize management client in the Spanish Haefele store are connected with the application server and the data base within the IBM cloud. The German head office of Haefele has access to all store data via IBM cloud without the need to build any own hardware sources for the new store solution. TCPOS and Maxess are trailblazers in use of the IBM cloud for hosting of integrated solutions.
„It’s brilliant for us: we can use one solution for several countries within the cloud. When the systems work in one country, we can easily transfer it into several countries”, says Wilfried Mast, head of application development at Haefele regarding the merchandize management and POS system from Maxess and TCPOS. The company Haefele serves more than 160,000 customers in 150 countries only today.
The expansion of the business model into other European countries is also supported by the TCPOS checkout systems because the graphical user interfaces of the touch systems are multilingual and POS functionalities as well as article descriptions can be adapted to the requirements of each country.
